Grow the classic fuzzy kiwi you know from the store. Hayward produces large, egg-shaped fruit with fuzzy brown skin and bright green flesh, with a sweet, tangy flavor and excellent eating quality. It’s the most common market variety, and it stores well after picking.

Hayward needs cool winters to fruit and a male pollinizer planted nearby (sold separately). It’s a large, vigorous vine that needs a sturdy trellis or arbor and a warm, wind-sheltered site. Fruit ripens in mid to late fall.
